Box truck wraps: a buyer's guide

Short answer

A box truck wrap covers the two sides and rear of the box, and often the cab doors. Because the box is a flat, simple shape, it is one of the most cost-effective ways to advertise: you get a billboard-sized canvas on every route. Pricing follows the square footage of the box, so a 26-foot truck costs more than a 16-foot one.

Measure the box first

Box length and height drive the price. A quick way to estimate printable area is length times height for each side, plus the rear. Tell us the box length (12, 16, 20, 24, or 26 feet are common), the height, and whether the rear is a roll-up or swing doors.

Plan each side for how it is seen

  • Driver side: seen by passing traffic, so keep the logo and one clear message large.
  • Passenger side: seen by pedestrians and from the curb, so it can carry more detail, such as a service list.
  • Rear: read by the driver behind you at a light. This is the best place for your phone number, website, and a QR code.
  • Cab doors: logo and phone number, so the truck still looks branded when the box is out of view.

Roll-up doors need planning

A roll-up door is made of hinged panels. We lay the design out so lettering and faces don't break awkwardly across the seams, and we cut the vinyl at each panel so the door can still roll freely.

Rivets and corrugation

Many box trucks have rivet lines or ribbed panels. Conformable cast vinyl is worked around rivets during installation, and we keep small text away from deep ribs so it stays readable.

Full box or partial?

A full-color box wrap gives the biggest impact. On a white box, a partial wrap or spot graphics with a strong logo and phone number can still look sharp for less. Spot graphics start at $350, and full wraps run $3,000 to $7,000 depending on size.
